Positive Message Tag Challenge

Hello and welcome! Today I’m showing you a “Positivitag” I made for a challenge from Tracie Fox. She supplied the free download of tags and affirmations to create a tag with a positive message.

There were several tags provided, so I chose three of them and added a piece of lavender card stock to make a fourth layer. I tested out some different shades of Tim Holtz distress ink and Memento Dew Drop ink to see which looked the best.

You can see that I chose Salty Ocean, Elderberry, Wilted Violet, and Lilac Posies. I ended up regretting my choice of Elderberry for the largest tag though. It was too dark and completely obscured the beautiful watercolors underneath.

I wanted to personalize it just a little bit more, so I decided to use a small butterfly stamp with some Tim Holtz distress ink in Spun Sugar on the pink tag, and Milled Lavender on the lavender tag. After all, what better symbol of fulfilled potential than a butterfly!

So there you have it! I considered adding some black splatters with a paintbrush and some black acrylic paint to the finished tag. What do you think? Would that make it better or be too much? Please share your opinion in the comments!

If you’d like to be a part of a supportive group of crafters and have access to Tracie’s generous freebies, you should join her Facebook group: The Foxy Crafters. If you do join and post anything to that group, please tag me so I can admire it!

Blessings!
