I’m currently working on a file folder journal to use this fall. Above you can see the cover after the file folders have been cut down and glued together.

Here’s a look at the inside pages of the journal. Watch the video titled Creating File Folder Journals from Joggles.com to see a demonstration of how to do this yourself. The video is 46 minutes long, but the instructions for making the journal are in the first 10 minutes.

A cool feature of this process is that depending on the way the folders are put together you can have top pockets, side pockets, or no pockets in between the folder pieces that you attach. I chose to have top pockets in mine.

I ordered these 6″ x 6″ fall papers to use as background on some of my journal pages. I’ll supplement them with stamping, stenciling, and whatever other techniques I decide to try.

After I glued the papers down, I edged them with autumn-patterned washi tape to finish the edges cleanly.

This is a view of the side edges of the pages that have had paper glued down and washi tape added to the edges. This is as far as I’ve gotten so far. My next steps will include inking some pages and creating some matching ephemera.
If you have a different technique for creating file folder journals, please share in the comments!
Blessings,
